ICT clubs in my school has played a vital role in empowering students with the digital literacy and technological skills needed to thrive in today’s world. By providing opportunities for exploration, creativity, and collaboration, these clubs are helping students develop their passions, prepare for future careers, and become responsible and informed digital citizens. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) club in my school has become essential in this digital age. This club has provided students with opportunities to explore the world of technology, develop essential skills, and prepare for the future.

I want extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Uganda Communications Commission for its invaluable support in promoting ICT clubs in my school, which has significantly empowered our students with essential digital skills for the modern world. Your dedication to fostering innovation and technology in education is truly commendable. Additionally, I sincerely thank my Headteacher Mr. Semwanga Moses for their willingness and commitment he has offered to embrace this initiative, creating a nurturing environment for students to thrive and excel in ICT. Together, your efforts are shaping a brighter future for education and technology in our communities.

Benefits of ICT Clubs in my School

The ICT club has enabled us develop essential digital literacy skills, including using computers, navigating the internet, and utilizing various software applications using the N-computing computers that we were provided by the Uganda Communications Commission.

Our Students gain valuable skills in areas such as coding, web design, graphic design, animation, and multimedia production using languages such Python, JavaScript and many others.

Through the Science and Technology Club we were able to make projects such as the Illuminoscope and electric bridge Project that we showcased at various exhibition grounds that encouraged students to think creatively, solve problems, and develop innovative solutions using technology.

These groomed leadership skills in that were practiced by our Executive leaders and also promoting team work as we were propelled forward by the slogan “Together We Achieve More”. Our students learn to work collaboratively on projects, sharing ideas and supporting each other.

These ICT clubs have exposed our students to various career paths in the technology industry, inspiring them to pursue their passions.

Activities in our ICT Clubs

Learning programming languages like Python, Scratch, or HTML/CSS to create games, websites, or applications.

Building and programming robots or exploring electronics projects.

Designing and building websites using various tools and technologies.
