KAYUNGA DISTRICT, CENTRAL/EASTERN UGANDA — Musiitwa Seed Secondary School has officially launched its ICT Club in a strategic move aimed at strengthening digital literacy and innovation among learners. The launch and training, held on 25th February 2026, was facilitated by the KAWA ICT Clubs Team as part of the national ICT Clubs programme supported by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) and Uganda Communications Universal Service and Access Fund UCUSAF.
About Musiitwa Seed Secondary School
Musiitwa Seed Secondary School is located in Nazigo Sub-county, Kayunga District, within the Central Region of Uganda (Greater Mukono/Kyoga sub-region). The district lies approximately 75–85 kilometers northeast of Kampala, Uganda’s capital city, making it relatively accessible via the Kampala–Jinja highway and Kayunga road networks.
The main urban center in the district is Kayunga Town, which serves as the administrative and commercial hub. The school plays a key role in providing secondary education to learners from surrounding rural and peri-urban communities, where access to advanced ICT infrastructure is still developing.
Purpose of the ICT Club Launch
The visit aimed to officially establish the ICT Club and introduce both learners and teachers to the objectives of the programme.
A key focus was to inspire students to use technology and innovation as tools for solving real-life community challenges, while also building essential digital competencies for the modern world.
Strong Learner Participation
The launch attracted 115 students from Senior One to Senior Six, demonstrating strong interest in ICT and innovation.
Despite limited resources, the training was effectively conducted using a desktop computer and a projector, highlighting the commitment to ensuring inclusive digital learning opportunities.

This approach aligns with the broader national vision of equipping young people with innovation skills, critical thinking, and digital problem-solving abilities.
Preparing Students for NCC Opportunities
Students were introduced to opportunities such as the National Conference on Communications (NCC), where ICT Club members can showcase their innovations and engage with national stakeholders in the technology sector.
