TGS ICT Club Launch on Tower TV UG
It was with great excitement of all parties when the KAWA Uganda team representing the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC/UCUSAF) launched the Tororo Girls School ICT Club.
The function was graced by the presence of the School Headteacher, Mrs. Wataba K. Hellen. She recognized the role ICT plays in modern society and thanked UCC for providing the computers in one of her labs and the internet.
She welcomed the TGS ICT club and also emphasized:
‘the main aim of Tororo girls’ school is to pursue academic success in an environment where the character and self also grow. Students learn a great deal about the world, other people and themselves. Excellence is our vision. Our class rooms, libraries, dining hall, dormitories all are full of activities. The young ladies have a lot of energy.

Moses Wamanga, Eng. Emmanuel Muboki and Norah Betsy Namu were the trainers from KAWA who demonstrated to the club members how students can excel as members of the club. ICT clubs is one of the envisaged cost-effective and sustainable solutions to the maintenance of school ICT labs to ensure project sustainability. The club members shall continuously be equipped with practical skills for maintenance of the computers and they shall also obtain other ICT skills through the club activities.
